Normal, this word has troubled the minds of many people. Some say that normal does not even exist, while others say it depends on the society what normal is. In this town, normal is very abnormal for most societies. In appearance, we look like your average person, living life day by day. However, we line in isolation from much of the entire world. Very few believe we exist, many believe we do not. Though we haven't been officially named, we like to call ourselves Coordinators. Coordinators in essence are people who have the ability to morph into a particular animal and have skills that many would consider those of an assassin. We have above human abilities such as werewolves and vampires.
We ourselves do not know how our race started; we do not know where we are headed. We hide ourselves among the human race, much like those werewolves and vampires people hear about. One difference sets us apart from all these races. We can change into one animal; we are not limited to wolves alone, like our close cousins the werewolves. Those who can change to wolves, like me, are sometimes mistaken to be werewolves. However, when we transform, our size isn’t much different than those wolfs found in the wild. We like to keep to our own race if possible, it is easy to see do to our keen senses. We can separate werewolves from vampires, though some can be awfully tricky.
However, our race has one major set back. Much like the vampires thirst for blood, or the werewolves become short tempered, we Coordinators sometimes lose ourselves to the call of the wild. We lose all ties to our human nature and become the animal that shares our body and soul. Memories during this time become fuzzy the day after, when all chaos is done. Some say we are damned to hell, whether that is true or not we never know. We die, just like werewolves and humans; we’re not immortal like vampires. However, are aging is different than humans. We tend to age slower than humans, the time they turn a year older, it takes us 3 years. It takes us Coordinators 3 times longer to age then humans. It took a while to get accustomed to, but we learned to hide our true age from the world. We lie about our age by saying that we look younger then we appear, when in fact, our age is how we look.
So now this is the society of the Coordinators. We live among humans, feeding like the animals we are by hunting our prey, or just eating take out on the way home. We live two different lives at a time; it can be rather difficult to keep it all under control. We may lose our cool sometimes, but we learned how to deal with the stress. I like to call out to all Coordinators out there, this city in the woods is ideal for us. Just make sure to keep track of your lies……they might just come bite you in the butt...
