Munchies

Alex put the apples in the plastic bag and sat them in her cart before moving down the aisle. She stopped in front of the oranges and wondered if she wanted them or not, with a small shake of the head she walked off to go look at vegetables.

Ambrose was at the grocery store to pick up some candy. Could you believe the freakin' 7-11 was outta' candy? Unbelievable. Anyway, Ambrose walked through the store, when he spotted a familiar backside. He grinned, and walked up behind her. And in her creepiest voice, he said, "Alex...."

Alex tensed up and turned quickly, a relieved smile formed on her face as she saw Ambrose. "Hey." she said as she set the lettuce in the cart and gave him a hug.

Ambrose laughed and returned her hug. "Hey." He then turned his eyes to her grocery cart. "Grocery shopping I see."

"Yep. I have been putting it off for forever. I'm afraid that if I don't go shopping now then I will starve." she said with a laugh. Alex looked at the fruits and vegetables in her cart and then back to Ambrose, "All I need is some meat and junk food. Care to walk with me?" she asked.

"Sure, I'll walk. That's how I got here anyways." He shrugged, and walked beside her. "Freakin' 7-11 is out of candy. Ridiculous, right?" He shook his head and frowned.

"Heck yea! I was going to go there for my candy cause it's cheaper... oh well." she said with a shrug of her shoulders. She moved to the meats and looked at the choices "Eh.. nothing good, I would have better luck hunting it." she said with a chuckle.

"It's always better when it's fresh." He smiled, and turned around slowly, leaning against the glass the meat was laid behind. "So what? All done shoppin'?

"Nope. I hear they have super yum jelly beans here." she said as she moved towards the candy aisle. "You should join me for dinner. I was thinking about making a mexican dish, I used to eat it all the time at the orphange. So want to come to dinner?"

"I don't have anywhere else to be, so sure." He gave her a thumbs up, and a bright smile. After which, he turned his attention to finding the jelly beans.

"Hopefully they have the coffee ones, I really like those. But the strawberry cheesecake certainly beats them." she said as she looked at the choices.

"Ew, coffee. You're like a grown-up or somethin'." He joked, and turned and saw his favorite flavor. "Sweet. Green Apple Banana Berry Super Duper Strawberry Orange Grape. I'm buyin'." He hugged the box close, and laughed.

Alex chuckled and grabbed what she wanted, "I'm ready. You ready? Or did you need more shopping?" she asked.

"Nah, I'm good." He said as he brought out his wallet. "And since I'm in a good mood, I will pay for your groceries too." He smiled, and handed her a $100 bill. "That should cover it, yes?"

"Oh no, you are not going to pay for my food." she said as she stuck the money back in his pocket and grabbed some money from her purse.

Ambrose rose an eyebrow, and pushed her out of the way lightly with his hip. He got the $100 back out, and said, "I'm a guy. I never lose at this. But I do lose at everything else." He smiled and gave the cashier his money. "Whatever she says, don't take her cash." He said to the cashier.

Alex frowned "Just for the hell of it I will poison your part of the meal." she teased as she set her stuff down for the cashier.

Ambrose rolled his eyes, and said, "I'll mix it myself if I have to." He then turned to the cashier, who looked at him funny for the poison joke.

"Thanks for the money thing, it was a very nice gesture." Alex said as they walked out of the store with their bags. She opened her trunk and placed them in before looking at Ambrose "I don't think poison would work on you."

"No problem." He said smoothly, as he followed her out of the grocery store. "No, it wouldn't have any effect."
