Luna lay on her back with her head hanging over the edge of the cliff, she had her eyes close as she tried to relax. The fire by her feet warming her up, she smiled as she thought of her greatest friend Athrun, she couldn't help but think of him. Sitting up she moved to the fire to start cooking the rabbit she had killed earlier.

Atrhun closed his eyes, as he ran in his wolf form for quite sometime. He wasn't even sure how long he had been out here for. His thoughts soon traveled to Luna, wondering how she was doing, after all, she did not leave in the best of conditions. He stopped at the lake, deciding to take a short rest; leaning over the edge to get himself refreshed. Once he began to drink, his mirror image became distorted, making him realize that was how he felt at the moment.

That was a waste of a life she thought as she looked at the cooked rabbit that she was unable to eat. She closed her eyes for a second and calmed herself before she started to cry. Luna remembered the song that her mother used to sing before they left, it was a song from India that asked for guidance. She gave a small smile as she started to sing in that language, the calming song.

Athrun heard a distant voice, his ear twitched as it became somewhat more clear. He closed his eyes to focus on the lingering tune. He shifted into his human form as he looked up at the sky. He took out a reminder from his father, a flute of sorts made from a shell. He brought it close to his lips and blew into it turning the handle as he did so. He sat against a trunk of an oak tree, letting the tune play he had been taught by his father when he was only a young child. It always seemed to relax him, it also seemed to guide him when he appeared to be lost. He continued to play, for he was lost in the melody.

Luna heard the distant sound of the shell flute, closing her eyes she finished that song and started on another one. This song she sang now was sad, to her it told her life story. She sat down on the edge of the ledge, getting lost in the melody.

Athrun soon came to stop the sweet tune as he again heard another song. However, this one was quite different from the other. He placed the flute away as he stood up, quickly shifting and running towards the source of the melody. It was climb to the top for sure, but he managed to get there just as the song seemed to finish. He was surprised to find that Luna was the one who had played it.

Luna looked shocked to see Athrun, moving from the edge she moved back away from him slightly. She pushed her hair back out of her face and glanced at Athrun.

Athrun noticed her movements and sighed. He shifted into his human form as he dug his hands into his pockets, staring at her slightly. She appeared to be frightened from the ordeal earlier, so he made no advances towards her. He could only ask if she was alright.

Luna put her arms around him and lay her head on his shoulder "No. I'm not alright, I'm horrible." she said quietly.

Athrun was slightly taken back but looked down at her. He wrapped his arms around her figure and brought her close. He rested his head on her head and closed his eyes. He brought her down as he sat, bringing her onto his lap as he stoked her hair. "What's the matter love?" he asked her, gently rocking her.

Luna took a shaky breath and stayed still. "I'm just awful. I think I should just leave this town, there is nothing for me here. I will just take my pack and go, I think that will be best." she babbled before looking up into Athrun's eyes. "I don't know what to do anymore. I feel lost." she whispered before giving Athrun a small kiss.

Athrun froze at the kiss for a moment before looking down at her. He made her look at him and spoke to her, seriously wanting her to understand his words. "Luna, we all feel lost at some point in our lives, do you really think you'll be able to find any answers once you leave? Besides, you were doing quite fine on your own, this is your home remember? Luna, you shouldn't leave just because you feel lost. Remember when I almost left, yet you and Jonathan came after me? I will not let you live so easily," he told her, kissing her.

"You can't stop me if I decide to leave." she said as she pulled back from the kiss, a defiant look in her eyes. "What do I have that can keep me here?" she asked as she lay her head on his shoulder.

"Friends," he stated simply as he looked at her. "Friends that do not truly belong to your pack," he added as he looked at the sky. "I have to go, the others are waiting. You must and can only decide on your own if you are willing to leave and take your pack with you. You're right, I can't stop you, even if I wanted to," he said as he kissed her forehead. "Take care Luna, make sure you think things through." He walked towards the cliff and glanced back at her once more. "What ever you do, I will go along with it, make sure it is something you will not regret doing, no matter your decision," he said and began to climb down.

Luna looked at the darkening sky then down at Athrun "It would be nice if you stayed." she said as she sat down

Athrun stopped his descent down and looked at her, slightly taken back by the request. He noticed the sky and sighed, seeing as it would be somewhat dangerous navigating out of the forest over the steep cliffs at this time of night. He climbed back up and dusted himself off, walking to her and sitting down next to her. "I suppose it is getting late," he stated closing his eyes.

"Thanks. I wouldn't want you to get hurt navigating throught this terrain in the dark." she said. Taking of her jacket she lay back and used it as a pillow. Looking up at the stars that were starting to show.

Athrun nodded as he looked at the stars as well, the moon slightly off to the side. You could never see the sky this beautiful in the city, no matter where you were. You had to be out here to experience it for real, he laid on his back and closed his eyes, slightly dozing off and soon falling asleep.

Luna looked at his sleeping figure and smiled, she gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek before putting a blanket over him. Standing up she looked at the scar on her side then off in the distance at the moon. She stood there for a minute just chilling before laying down and drifting to sleep.

Athrun woke from his slumber, the sun barely coming from the horizon. He yawned lightly and stretched, looking around. He stood up and smiled down at Luna who laid asleep, he walked over to the cliff and took in the crisp air.
